The Actors’ Playground is a program designed to give young people a place where they can express themselves creatively, expand their appreciation of the arts and develop the skills they need to take an active part in the arts. We open up new worlds for children by providing experience and guidance in a professional setting.

Fractured Fairy Tale Theatre – ages 6-9
Mondays, 4:00-5:30 pm, 10 week session
March 1st – May 10th, 2010 (no class March 22nd)
Tuition: $150.00, Instructor: Shelly Bordas
Students learn and practice the fundamental techniques of stage acting
while working on this fun production featuring fairy tale favorites such as
The Frog Prince Cont., The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, and The Beanstalk Incident.

Play Production Class – ages 10-13 (Charlotte’s Web)
Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30 pm , 10 week session
March 2nd – May 11th, 2010 (no class March 23rd)
Tuition: $150.00, Instructor: Rita Broderick
Each session begins with improvisation techniques and theatre games designed to enhance
creativity and hone basic theatre skills. As we work towards a finished product, students become skilled at all the acting fundamentals they need to move on to more challenging acting opportunities.

Advanced Play Production Class – ages 13-16 (In Your Face...Book “The Musical”)
Wednesdays, 4:00-5:30 pm, 10 week session
March 3rd - May 12th, 2010 (no class March 24th)
Tuition: $150.00, Instructor: LuAnn Buckstein
Based on the “Facebook” phenomena, students will not only star in this hilarious coming of age musical filled with sketches and musical parodies about teenage angst, but they will all contribute to the writing of the script as well. This class is suggested for students with some class or play production background.

Voice for Musical Theatre – ages 12-16
Thursdays, 4:00-5:30 pm , 10 week session
March 4th – *May 15th, 2010
Tuition: $150.00, Instructor: Midge Moyer
Students are given an opportunity to work with one of the most prominent voice teachers in the area, in a small group situation. They will focus on basic vocal technique, song interpretation and audition preparation along with exposure to singing harmony “parts”- a highly valued skill in any musical theatre production. A perfect class for the student who needs the confidence and skill to pursue more musical theatre opportunities.
*Note: The recital/performance for this class will be Saturday, May 15th at 11:00 am

Private Coaching (Acting/Auditioning/Voice/Dance) - ages 9 - Adult
One hour sessions, by appointment
Tuition: $60.00 (a series of sessions are available at a discounted rate)
This is not a class but a chance to set up individual one hour private coaching appointments with professional actors, musical directors, and choreographers currently working in the metropolitan area. Each session is customized to meet the needs of the student, whether it is someone wanting to perfect an audition piece or get feedback on a work in progress.
